The National Rosacea Society lists several foods and beverages that may trigger rosacea flares:
In fact many rosaceans report that diet plays a major role in their rosacea, with dietary triggers causing additional flushing, burning and p&p's. Many of the dietary sources that rosaceans list as their worst triggers have direct influences on the inflammatory response.
Some of these pro-inflammatory dietary influences include:
- Histamine Containing or Triggering Foods
- Foods High in Niacin
- Foods High in Salicylates
- Foods Triggering a Large Insulin Response
- Omega-3 / Omega-6 Imbalance

Scientific tests can be used to identify food allergies and intolerances, but there are also several controversial tests that are generally regarded as less reliable. The Allergy Dietitian and Quackwatch sites contain information that may be helpful in choosing the right test for you:
