Oxidative free radicals are released from the neutrophils involved with inflammation, and antioxidants may help to neutralize these free radicals. Studies have suggested that the traditional antioxidant vitamins and minerals A, C, E, selenium, zinc and others may be helpful in modulating inflammation. Other studies have indicated that Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) may also play a beneficial role.
