Studies suggest that Helicobacter pylori may play at least a secondary role in rosacea. No causative role has been established for Helicobacter pylori in rosacea, but studies seem to suggest that rosaceans are often infected with H. pylori and that infection with the pathogen can lead to an upregulated TH2 immune response. Studies also seem to suggest that H. pylori seem to thrive in the gastric environment created by an abnormal TH2 response.
